Comparison
fastform vs building the stack yourself
Most groups evaluating us are really comparing us to a form builder plus an automation tool plus somebody to wire them together. That is a legitimate way to solve this. Here is what it costs, with the numbers shown and the part nobody puts in the spreadsheet named.
- Vendor pricing read August 4, 2026
- The DIY stack is cheaper as software
- So read the second table
Two common stacks, at list price
Both vendors sign a BAA, so this is a fair fight on compliance.
Labels stay put — swipe the plans sideways
| Stack | What it is | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | Jotform Gold, $99 a month billed annually, plus Keragon Professional at $399 a month | about $498 |
| Healthcare-native forms | Formsort Pro at $279 a month, plus Keragon Professional at $399 a month | about $678 |
| At real volume | Enterprise forms, unpriced publicly, plus Keragon Scale Up at $1,499 a month | $1,499 plus whatever the forms cost |
Read that honestly: as pure software, the DIY stack is cheaper than fastform Managed and roughly matches fastform Platform. Anyone technical enough to run this comparison will do exactly that arithmetic, and they will be right.

The half that is not on the invoice
Keragon sells you the pipes. Nobody at Keragon designs your intake, builds your warehouse tables, or fixes the sync at 7am when your EHR changes a field. That work is real and it has a market price.
Hire someone
Keragon's own pricing page anchors this at roughly $50,000 a year for one admin FTE, which is their argument for buying software rather than headcount. It is also ours.
Retain an agency
$3,000 to $10,000 a month is the band we see quoted for healthcare integration work, and six to twelve weeks is the timeline that usually comes with it.
Use the team you have
The cheapest line in the spreadsheet and the most expensive one in practice, because it is paid for out of whatever those people were going to do instead.
Software at $500 to $1,500 a month, plus the integrator at $2,500 to $5,000 a month equivalent, puts a delivered and maintained version of this in the $3,000 to $7,000 a month band.
fastform Managed starts at $2,995 a month plus a one-time $7,500 implementation. It sits at the bottom of that band, and it is one invoice, one vendor and one BAA rather than three.
Build it yourself if
- You have engineers who already own your integrations, and their roadmap has room.
- Your intake is one or two forms that rarely change.
- Nothing needs to happen mid-form. A submission landing in an inbox is genuinely fine.
- You want the lowest possible software line and you have the people to absorb the rest.
Buy it delivered if
- Intake changes often, and every change currently waits on one busy person.
- Something has to happen while the patient is still in the form, like eligibility.
- You have several locations whose intake all drifted apart, and someone wants them the same.
- You cannot currently say what your form's drop-off rate is, by question.
The question that settles it
Ask whoever maintains your current setup how long a new intake form takes, start to finish, including the EHR mapping and the testing. Then ask what happened the last time the EHR changed something. Whatever those two answers cost you a year is the number this comparison is really about, and it is almost never the software line.
Run the comparison on a real form
Tell us which form is the biggest headache and which EHR you are on. We will build a working version of it, free, and you can price the DIY version of the same thing against it.
No card. No contract. BAA signed before anything real is touched.
